Types and Styles
There are many types and styles of wine refrigerators on the market to choose from.
About seven years ago, Avanti put the first wine refrigeration unit on the market in two sizes. Buyers could choose from a 24-bottle model or a 34-bottle model. Danby and Haier soon followed suit with their own designs, along with other models made by small appliance manufacturers. Eventually, imported Chinese dorm models made their appearance under various labels.
In the U.S., Marvel and U-Line had long offered affordable front-vented units with built-in options. As high-tech capabilities and design options have advanced, Marvel now makes Viking, U-Line makes Echelon, and Sub-Zero makes a lot of money. Every appliance manufacturer has its models. The result is that if you want a wine refrigerator, you can choose from among many different brands, styles, and models.
