Bold French Wines
When you
think of fine wines you often think of
France.
From Beaujolais to Champagne to
Bordeaux to Burgundy, when we think of
wine, France comes to mind. For hundreds
of years the celebrated wines of France
have charmed our palate. Initially made
by and for the peasants, French wine had
to be good, from the small wineries to
the large growers and big houses. More
than skill and know-how have combined to
make French wine the best, however.
Wines have different personalities.
French wine commands; it is not shy. It
does not ask permission or tease and
tremble. It is rich, born from the rich
French soil and relentless sun, of
strong, confident grapes whipped by
winds from both the Mediterranean and
Siberia.
All over the world, the drink of choice
for enophiles is French wine. Due to its
soil, latitudes, and plentiful water,
France has many regions ideal for
growing grapes. Today the bounty of its
highly productive vineyards is
accessible to anyone who chooses to
partake!
